Baseball Recap: Okmulgee Comes Up Short

Okmulgee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Mounds Golden Eagles, falling 15-3. One positive for the Bulldogs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Brandon Simon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Kenden Brooks, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Okmulgee's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Mounds, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Okmulgee will challenge Henryetta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mounds, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Mounds Golden Eagles challenge Summit Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
