Napa has gone 8-2 against Petaluma recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Grizzlies will venture away from home to challenge the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Napa managed to keep up with Tamalpais until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Grizzlies came up short against the Red Tailed Hawks, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, Napa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Tamalpais are ranked 120th).

Meanwhile, Petaluma fell victim to Vintage and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crushers. The shutout was out of character for Petaluma seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2025.

Petaluma's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 0-1-2 and their overall record down to 4-2-4. As for Napa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-3-3 record this season.

Napa got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in January of 2025 against Petaluma by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
