Soccer Recap: Cooper City Takes a Loss

Cooper City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stoneman Douglas Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Eagles are ranked 28th).

Cooper City's goal came courtesy of Andrew Chiorean, who's now up to five this season.

Cooper City's loss dropped their record down to 2-9-2. As for Stoneman Douglas, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which somehow still isn't as good as their 9-1-1 record this season.

Cooper City wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 6-1 defeat against Cypress Bay on the 8th. As for Stoneman Douglas, they will head out to square off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stoneman Douglas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.
