Baseball Game Preview: Long Beach Bearcats vs. West Harrison Hurricanes

The Long Beach Bearcats will head out to take on the West Harrison Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Harrison took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Long Beach, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Long Beach faced off against Pascagoula on Saturday. The Bearcats walked away with a 6-2 win over the Panthers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 5, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Drew Dixon was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Flynn James was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, West Harrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Hancock. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hurricanes have suffered since February 22nd.

Cameron Sandel and Reece Parker did some serious damage despite the final result: Sandel scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Parker scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

West Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Long Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Long Beach came up short against West Harrison in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Can the Bearcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
