Softball Recap: Briar Woods Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Briar Woods proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Riverside Ram 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Caprice Bohmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Natalie Posusney was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kara Yurish, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Briar Woods pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Riverside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Ram beat Briar Woods by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.
