Basketball Recap: Lehigh Christian Academy Mustangs vs. Salem Christian Eagles
The Lehigh Christian Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-45 walloping at the hands of Salem Christian. Lehigh Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xavier Gross, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gross has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Hauser, who scored 15 points.
Lehigh Christian Academy's defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Salem Christian, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lehigh Christian Academy will square off against the at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Chester Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matches. As for Salem Christian, they and the Monarch will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Veritas Academy is ranked 740th, while the Eagles are ranked 758th).
