Football Recap: Blacksburg Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Blacksburg had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it seven. They were outmatched by the Broome Centurions and fell 40-7. The Wildcats lost against the Centurions in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 48-41 score last time.

As for Broome, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Tyqwon Booker was his usual excellent self, rushing for 140 yards and three touchdowns. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making one tackle. Brayden Simpson was another key pass catcher, picking up 108 receiving yards and one TD.

Blacksburg and Broome will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wildcats are set to take on their familiar foe Chesnee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Broome will face off against rival Woodruff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
