Basketball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

Union was the 81-24 winner over Brockway when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Union Knights/Damsels were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 46-45 to the Brockway Rovers. The Knights/Damsels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Union's loss came despite strong showings from Trent Fleming and Gage Jordan. Fleming went 7 for 16 on his way to 18 points, while Jordan dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Fleming's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Bish, who posted five points and six rebounds.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Brockway, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Union will welcome Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brockway, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ridgway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brockway is facing Ridgway at the right time seeing as Ridgway is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
