Softball Game Preview: Campbell Spartans vs. Hillgrove Hawks

Campbell is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Hillgrove Hawks at 7:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Campbell: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Hillgrove has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road also dating back to last season.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Campbell's offense. They lost 10-0 to Carrollton on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered against the Trojans since September 20, 2022.

Meanwhile, Hillgrove hadn't done well against Lassiter recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Trojans 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
