Football Game Preview: Marmaton Valley Wildcats vs. Hartford Jaguars

Marmaton Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against Hartford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Marmaton Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Marmaton Valley's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 50-0 win over St. Paul. The Wildcats' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

It was another big night for Tyler Lord, who rushed for 190 yards and four TDs on only 12 carries, and also threw for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 17 rushing touchdowns on the season. Marmaton Valley's leading receiver Todd Stevenson was Lord's top target yet again, picking up 106 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hartford). They came out on top against Centre by a score of 16-6 on Friday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hartford's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Marmaton Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Marmaton Valley against Hartford in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 76-12 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
