Baseball Recap: Fort Myers Wins Going Away Against Gateway Charter

Fort Myers's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Gateway Charter Griffins as the Fort Myers Green Wave made off with a 10-4 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Green Wave's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Fort Myers got a great performance from Owen Augustine as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave Augustine a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Bryce Ware was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Magas, who scored a run and stole Two bases.

Fort Myers now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Gateway Charter, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Fort Myers didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Riverdale on the 21st. As for Gateway Charter, they have also already played their next matchup, a 0-0 victory against Palmetto Ridge on the 21st.
