Basketball Game Preview: Stoneman Douglas Eagles vs. South Broward Bulldogs

The Stoneman Douglas Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the South Broward Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stoneman Douglas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully South Broward likes a good challenge.

Stoneman Douglas will head into Thursday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They lost 88-63 to Coral Glades. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Jaguars are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, South Broward ended up a good deal behind Northeast on Wednesday and lost 59-43. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Hurricanes recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Stoneman Douglas' loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-7. As for South Broward, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Everything went Stoneman Douglas' way against South Broward in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Stoneman Douglas made off with a 70-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stoneman Douglas since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
