Basketball Recap: Strath Haven Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Chester

Strath Haven won the last time they faced Chester and things went their way on Saturday too. The Strath Haven Panthers walked away with a 43-33 win over the Chester Clippers. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Clippers are ranked 88th).

Chester's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Imani Dorsey, who went 8 for 13 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Ja?Mya Muhammad, who posted 13 points.

Strath Haven's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-6. As for Chester, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Strath Haven Panthers challenge the Springfield Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chester, they will take on Interboro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chester is facing Interboro at the right time seeing as Interboro is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
