Baseball Recap: Cascade Has No Trouble Against Richland

Cascade won against Richland last Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Cascade Champions were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Richland Raiders. The victory continues a trend for the Champions in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won five in a row.

Jayden Hathcock made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Cascade let Jaxson Milliken and Xykaiah Dixon run wild. Milliken went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Dixon scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Milliken a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Thomas Demartelaere, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Cascade's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Richland, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cascade will square off against Huntland at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cascade is facing Huntland at the right time seeing as Huntland is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Richland, they will take on Community on Monday.
