Football Recap: Gloversville Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Gloversville's offense. They took a blow against the Averill Park Golden Knights on Friday, falling 28-0. While losing is never fun, the Huskies/Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Golden Knights are ranked 162nd).

Ayden Sturgess threw for 137 yards on 15 of 30 attempts. Devin Butcher was his top target, picking up 129 receiving yards. On the ground, Braydon Deere rushed for 32 yards.

Gloversville's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Averill Park, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

As of now, neither Gloversville nor the Golden Knights have any future games scheduled.
