Baseball Recap: Valwood's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Valwood had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past the Brookwood Warriors 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Valiants, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Triston White and Dax Womack did most of the damage at the plate: White went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Womack went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That home run was White's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maddox Coile, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Valwood's record is now 12-6. As for Brookwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valwood will face off against Deerfield-Windsor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brookwood, they will challenge Westwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
