Stratford Academy took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Piedmont Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Stratford Academy took Piedmont Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-12, 21-25, 15-13.
Stratford Academy found their leader in sophomore Bea Leary, who had 21 digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Hatcher, who had ten digs and three assists.
Stratford Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive games.
