Preview: Brandon Blackhawks vs. North Branch Broncos

Brandon is 0-4 against North Branch since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Brandon Blackhawks will be playing at home against the North Branch Broncos at 6:00 p.m. Brandon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Even though Brandon has not done well against Corunna recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Brandon enjoyed a cozy 60-44 victory over Corunna. That 16 points margin sets a new team best for Brandon this season.

Riley Abney continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 37 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Brandon's points. Jaden Williamson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

North Branch suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Armada at home and fell 66-39. While losing is never fun, North Branch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Armada is ranked 93rd).

Brandon's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7. As for North Branch, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Brandon came up short against North Branch in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 38-27. Will Brandon have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
