Football Recap: Center Grove Takes Down Franklin Central in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Center Grove had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Franklin Central Flashes on Friday, sneaking past 30-27. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Flashes recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Center Grove found their leader in sophomore Ricky Lange, who rushed for 120 yards and one score. Brodie Tilton was in the mix as well, providing the Trojans with two TDs.

Franklin Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Moritz, who picked up 125 receiving yards and one touchdown. Connor Moreland was another key passer, throwing for 172 yards and one TD.

Center Grove's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Franklin Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Center Grove will square off against Warren Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. Franklin Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
