Basketball Game Preview: Banning Pilots vs. San Pedro Pirates

Banning is 0-10 against San Pedro since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Banning Pilots will head out to face off against the San Pedro Pirates at 4:30 p.m.

Banning is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gardena.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for San Pedro, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 69-57 victory over Carson on Wednesday. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Colts are ranked 944th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

San Pedro pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Banning, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.

Banning was taken down by San Pedro 70-40 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Banning avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
