Basketball Recap: Evergreen Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Wauseon

Evergreen hadn't done well against Wauseon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Evergreen Vikings walked away with a 43-36 win over the Wauseon Indians. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Vikings' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Indians are ranked 112th).

The win got Evergreen back to even at 8-8. As for Wauseon, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evergreen will head out to challenge Ottawa Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wauseon, they will venture away from home to take on Pettisville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
