Baseball Recap: Highland Hornets vs. Chardon Hilltoppers
Highland lost to Chardon back in April of 2015, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Highland Hornets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Chardon Hilltoppers.
Cooper Richnafsky looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Landon Sooy was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and an RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
On Chardon's side, Mason Wolf was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.
