Oakridge took a 31-point loss the last time they faced off against Whitehall, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles slipped by the Vikings 14-13 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Vikings are ranked 32nd).

The win made it two in a row for Oakridge and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 29 points in those games. As for Whitehall, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Oakridge will welcome Belding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Black Knights have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Whitehall, they will head out on the road to square off against Ludington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Orioles' defense has only allowed 5.3 points per game this season, so the Vikings' offense will have their work cut out for them.
