Basketball Recap: Washburn's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After a string of four wins, Washburn's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to the Hettinger/Scranton Black Devils 56-52. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Black Devils from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Washburn's loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-3. As for Hettinger/Scranton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washburn will face off against White Shield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washburn is facing White Shield at the right time seeing as White Shield is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Hettinger/Scranton, they will challenge New England at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
