Volleyball Recap: Portsmouth West Takes a Loss

Portsmouth West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minford Falcons. If the Senators were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Portsmouth West was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Minford work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 10-25, 25-23, 26-24.

Macey Whisman paced Portsmouth West's offense, picking up 20 kills. Whisman got some help from Brayleigh Pistole and her 26 assists. Chloe Bryant controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Portsmouth West's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Minford, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-6.

Portsmouth West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Wheelersburg on the 25th. As for Minford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against South Webster on the 25th.
