Volleyball Recap: Crescent City's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Crescent City entered their tilt with St. Joseph Academy on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Flashes. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Flashes, too.

Crescent City had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-23.

Leading Crescent City to victory were Reagan Chayer and Logan Bornstein. Chayer had eight digs and three aces, while Bornstein had 20 digs, six kills, and four aces. That's the most kills Bornstein has posted over her last ten contests.

They weren't the only good server: Crescent City was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive games.

St. Joseph Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Addy Mira, who had eight digs and two aces, and Leta Poole, who had four digs.

Crescent City's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crescent City will face off against Menendez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Peniel Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m.
