Baseball Recap: De Leon Takes a Loss

De Leon suffered their biggest defeat since February 27th on Tuesday. They lost 17-3 to the Stamford Bulldogs. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

De Leon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trenton Zmeskal, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Zmeskal's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for De Leon and nudges their season record down to 8-3-1. As for Stamford, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. De Leon will challenge Cisco at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. Cisco is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. Stamford will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hawley at 7:00 p.m. on March 21st.
