Basketball Recap: Banning Comes Up Short

Banning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 48-34 bruising from the Narbonne Gauchos. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pilots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-24 back in January.

Narbonne was led to victory by Cash Stokley and Quamare Meadows. Stokley went 8 for 13 on his way to 19 points and seven boards, while Meadows went 5 of 6 en route to 13 points and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stokley has scored at least a third of Narbonne's points. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Eleby, who posted five points and three steals.

Banning's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Narbonne, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Gardena the next time they take the court. Narbonne will head out to face Gardena at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Banning will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
