Softball Recap: Lockport Comes Up Short

Lockport and Lincoln-Way West squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lockport had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Porters have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Faut Bridget was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Lockport saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Schmitt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Lockport's loss dropped their record down to 24-13-1. As for Lincoln-Way West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Lockport nor Lincoln-Way West have any future games scheduled.
