Basketball Recap: Lancaster Comes Up Short

Lancaster played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 85-47 loss at the hands of the Camden Bulldogs. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-16.

Defeat or not, Lancaster got some senior leadership from Kemarja Peay and Zatyra Walls. Peay dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards, while Walls posted eight points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Baskins, who earned nine points and five boards.

Camden's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shanaryah Wright, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 19 rebounds. Wright is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Braylin Mungo, who went 8 for 19 to rack up 20 points along with five assists and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Lancaster and nudges their season record down to 11-13. As for Camden, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Coming up, Lancaster will take on York at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Camden, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against A.C. Flora at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as A.C. Flora comes in on four and Camden on three.
