Caston waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Winamac Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Comets have posted since May 3, 2025.

Caston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Mollenkopf, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Caston's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Winamac, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Caston will head out to square off against Lafayette Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winamac, they will square off against North Judson-San Pierre at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
