Volleyball Recap: Capitan Comes Up Short

Capitan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the SonBlazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

While Capitan was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-10, 25-22.

Capitan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Capitan will face off against rival Cloudcroft at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mesilla Valley Christian School is set to challenge their familiar foe Mescalero Apache at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
