Preview: Juniata Christian Eagles vs. Community Baptist Christian Kings
The Juniata Christian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Community Baptist Christian Kings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Juniata Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Even though Juniata Christian has not done well against Bridgeport Baptist Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Juniata Christian blew past Bridgeport Baptist Academy 43-20.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Juniata Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Wright, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Smith, who scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Community Baptist Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down Springfield Christian Academy 49-30.
Community Baptist Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kade Hunt, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Kendall Williams, who scored 13 points.
Juniata Christian's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Community Baptist Christian, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Juniata Christian might still be hurting after the 54-34 loss they got from Community Baptist Christian when the teams last played back in February. Can Juniata Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
