Northmor gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They really took it to the Elgin Comets for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-13 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-5.
Leading Northmor to victory were Trevor Black and Brendan Barber. Black shot 44% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Barber went 7-for-15 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. Those 20 points gave Black a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Miley, who posted six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Northmor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-49 loss against Crestline on the 28th. As for Elgin, they have also already played their next game, a 53-45 defeat against Triad on the 28th.
