Football Recap: Tustin Falls Short of Rancho Cucamonga in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tustin can now relate to. They took a blow against the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars on Friday, falling 45-8. The Tillers were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the five matchups prior), but the Cougars' defense proved too tough.

Ayden Edwards threw for 76 yards on nine of 15 attempts. Rufai Azeez was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards. On the ground, Elijah Robinson rushed for 43 yards.

Rancho Cucamonga had a senior duo take command as Jacob Chambers threw for 199 yards and three TDs and James Strong III gained 147 total yards and two touchdowns. Tyree Wilson also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.

The defeat snapped Tustin's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-3 record. As for Rancho Cucamonga, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Tustin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rancho Cucamonga, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 26-6 loss against Murrieta Valley on the 14th.
