Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Center Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Victory Christian Center had lost six games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-11 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They snuck past the New Garden Friends Bears with a 54-49 win. The Kings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Carlos Marshall was the offensive standout of the contest as he posted 17 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Deshawn Coulter, who put up nine points.

As for New Garden Friends, they now have a losing record of 5-6. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kingston Clifton, who had 19 points and three steals. Clifton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Adrian Wilkerson, who earned 12 points and six boards.

Victory Christian Center wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-46 victory against Clover on the 6th. As for New Garden Friends, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-41 loss against Southeastern Christian Academy on the 6th.
