Football Game Preview: Pueblo South Colts vs. Discovery Canyon Thunder + Official Tickets

The Pueblo South Colts will take on the Discovery Canyon Thunder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pueblo South lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lewis-Palmer, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Colts breezed past the Rangers to the tune of 48-10 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Colts as they're now sitting on four straight.

Chace Hurley had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. An impressive showing, but he really ramped things up playing D: he forced one fumble and made 14 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Caeden Herrera, who threw for 187 yards and one TD on only 17 passes.

Pueblo South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hurley and Desmond Burton. Hurley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last contest, Discovery Canyon made sure to put some points up on the board against Palmer on Thursday. The Thunder took their matchup with ease, bagging a 48-8 victory over the Terrors. With the Thunder ahead 42-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Discovery Canyon's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Pueblo South, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-2.

Pueblo South came up short against Discovery Canyon in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 49-40. Thankfully for the Colts, Hayden Jones (who rushed for 142 yards and three scores, and also threw for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
