Football Recap: Pahokee Falls Short of Blountstown in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pahokee couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were dealt a 30-3 loss at the hands of the Blountstown Tigers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Tigers are ranked 25th).

Xavier Mitchell threw for 93 yards on 13 of 23 attempts. Tristian Gooden was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards. On the ground, Samuel Arnold rushed for 30 yards.

Leading Blountstown to victory were Amari Thomas and Bowen Barber. Thomas gained 116 total yards and three touchdowns, while Barber rushed for 59 yards and one score. Barber was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.

Pahokee's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Blountstown, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Pahokee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blountstown, they will face off against Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 9.9, the Hornets 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
