Football Recap: Patton Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Patton's offense. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of the Chase Trojans on Friday. The Panthers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Darin Tipton was his usual excellent self, throwing for 280 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt, and also punching in one TD on the ground for Chase. Tipton's passing game has become a key predictor of the Trojans' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 3-4 otherwise. Brycen McSwain did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 123 receiving yards.

Patton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Chase, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Patton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chase, they will face off against Thomasville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
