Volleyball Recap: Mooresville Takes Down Grimsley in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

Mooresville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Grimsley Whirlies 3-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since September 9th.

Mooresville took Grimsley into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 17-25, 25-27, 25-22, 15-10.

Gia Lowe paced Mooresville's offense, picking up 23 kills. Lowe got some help from Siena DiTomas and her 48 assists. Lowe was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Grimsley still got an impressive performance from Morgan Falk, who had 34 digs and two aces. Falk has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Mooresville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Grimsley, their loss ended a 12-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-9.

Mooresville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Cox Mill on the 25th. Grimsley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
