Softball Game Preview: Central Valley Bears vs. Shadle Park Highlanders

The Central Valley Bears will face off against the Shadle Park Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Valley has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Central Valley's offense. They came up short against Ridgeline on Friday, falling 13-0. The Bears have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Central Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Whitney Hollen, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Shadle Park made easy work of Ferris on Monday and carried off a 13-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.

The team relied heavily on Abby Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Shadle Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Shadle Park, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
