Baseball Recap: Summit Shasta Find Success

Summit Shasta came out on top against North Valley Baptist on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Black Bears walked away with an 8-5 win over the Bulldogs. The Black Bears haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Caden Frost was incredible, going 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Summit Shasta: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Jalen Mingao was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Summit Shasta's record is now 9-7. As for North Valley Baptist, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summit Shasta will take on South San Francisco at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Valley Baptist, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pinewood at 4:00 p.m. on May 5.
