Basketball Game Preview: Basha Bears vs. Tucson High Magnet School Badgers

The Basha Bears will challenge the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Basha's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.

While Basha didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed by St. Mary's to the tune of 71-27 on Friday. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 40 points or more this season.

Basha got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Beckler out in front who went 7 of 11 on her way to 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Beckler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amira Reynolds, who went 5 of 6 en route to 10 points along with six steals and five boards.

Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School beat Tolleson 48-35 on Tuesday.

Basha's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Basha couldn't quite finish off Tucson High Magnet School in their previous meeting back in February and fell 58-56. Can Basha avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
