The Starmount Rams will be playing at home against the Cherryville Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Starmount put up the most points they have all season two weeks ago. Their defense stepped up to hand Ashe County a 56-0 shutout. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Deuce Best looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 196 yards and four TDs while completing 90% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Jymir Billips helped Best out on the ground, rushing for 72 yards and one score on only nine carries.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Starmount, adding 20 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ryley Rodriguez, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cherryville walked away with it. They blew past the Sauras 55-12 on Friday. With the Ironmen ahead 28-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Cherryville's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. Elijah Proctor was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself.
Starmount pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.9 points over those games. As for Cherryville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Starmount has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 167.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cherryville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 163.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
