After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hanover Central, Highland was happy to have turned things around on Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 31-30 victory over the Calumet New Tech Warriors. The high-scoring effort was just what the Trojans needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Highland found their leader in sophomore Aaron McCormack, who threw for 142 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Calumet New Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Brandon, who rushed for 104 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Brandon is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 104 every time he's taken the field this season. Brandon Smith got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Highland's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Calumet New Tech, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
