Basketball Recap: Hanover Central Skates Past Highland with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Hanover Central over Highland in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hanover Central Wildcats blew the Highland Trojans out of the water with a 68-38 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Highland had strong showings from Justin Pack, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points, and Cameron Katz, who posted seven points. The dominant performance also gave Katz a new career-high in assists (four).

The win got Hanover Central back to even at 9-9. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gary West Side knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Hanover Central likes a good challenge. As for Highland, they will venture away from home to take on Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
