Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dinuba). They were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over the Tulare Western Mustangs on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Emperors as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Neveah Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kiley Gomez was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Patterson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Dinuba kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.

Dinuba's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Tulare Western, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 9-3-1 record.

Dinuba and Tulare Western should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Emperors (ranked 142nd) will meet Lemoore (ranked 683rd) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Tulare Western will take on Hanford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (153 vs. 309).
