Baseball Game Preview: Brighton Bengals vs. East Leopards

For the second straight game, Brighton will face off against East. Brighton will be playing at home against East at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Brighton's favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while East has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Brighton's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on East with a sharp 15-0 victory. With that win, the Bengals brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Josh Mawhinney tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jack Saba was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Easton Fry, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Brighton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Brighton now has a winning record of 3-2. As for East, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
