Football Game Preview: Hilbert Wolves vs. Lourdes Knights

Hilbert hasn't had much luck against Lourdes recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will head out to take on the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Hilbert sitting on three straight victories and Lourdes on 11.

Hilbert is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Wauzeka-Steuben/Seneca 22-20.

Meanwhile, Lourdes made easy work of Eleva-Strum on Friday and carried off a 28-8 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Hilbert better focus on containing Brady Ridenour and Lucas Neuens as the pair were huge in Lourdes' win. Ridenour rushed for 37 yards and two scores, while Neuens picked up 75 receiving yards. That's the most rushing touchdowns Ridenour has posted since back in September.

Lourdes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Ryder Mullen and Elwin West Jr., who each picked up one interception apiece. Lourdes got some further help from Brady Bauer: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Hilbert's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Lourdes, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.

Hilbert came up short against Lourdes when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 35-27. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
