Football Recap: Center Takes a Loss

Center extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They had to suffer through a 60-14 loss at the hands of the Carthage Bulldogs. The Roughriders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-7.

Although Center took the loss, they still got scores from Jaysis Villegas and Zy'Keyvius Villegas.

As for Carthage, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 37.9 points thus far.

Jett Surratt had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 348 yards and six TDs while completing 82.1% of his passes. Those six passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Benny Smith, who rushed for 126 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Center has already played their next matchup, a 44-27 win against Bullard on the 17th. As for Carthage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 61-56 victory against Athens on the 17th.
